"In (LUKE 4:16-20) JESUS came to Nazareth, where HE had been brought up. And as HIS custom was, HE went into the synagogue on the Sabbath Day, and HE stood up to read."
And HE was handed the book of the Prophet Isaiah. And when HE had opened the book, HE found the place where it was written:
"The Spirit of the LORD is upon ME to preach the Gospel to the poor; HE has sent ME to heal the broken-hearted (the discouraged, the depressed)...." (and from Isaiah 61:2-3)"... to comfort all who mourn... to give them beauty for ashes...the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise instead of the spirit of heaviness (discouragement, depression...)..."
A garment (?) of praise?
"The Hebrew root for "garment" shows praise as MORE than a piece of clothing casually thrown over our shoulders. It literally teaches us "to wrap" or "cover" ourselves - that the garment of Praise is to leave no openings through which hostile elements can penetrate. This garment of praise REPELS and REPLACES the heavy (discouraging/ depressing spirit). This special message of instruction and hope is for those who are oppressed by fear, or doubt, discouragement or depression. "Put on" this garment!!! A warm coat from our closet resists the cold wind ONLY when it is "Put On"! When distressed --- BE DRESSED!!! - with Praise!!! Act according to GOD'S WORD!!!" (Psalm 150:1-6).
PRAISE THE LORD!!!
"Saying in a loud voice, WORTHY is the LAMB, WHO was slain, to receive ALL the Power, and Riches, and Praise and Wisdom and Might and Honor and Majesty (Glory and Splendor) and Blessing...Praise, and Worship, and the giving of Thanks."
"And every creature in heaven and on earth...and on the sea and all that is in it, crying out together-To HIM WHO is seated on the throne and to the LAMB be ascribed the blessing and the Honor and the Majesty (Glory and Splendor) and the Power (Might and Dominion) forever and ever (through the eternities of the eternities)!!!" (Revelation 5:12-13)/Amplified Bible).
"Let everything that has breath, and every breath of life PRAISE the LORD!!!" (Psalm 150:6/Amplified Bible).
"But YOU are HOLY, O YOU WHO Dwell in the Praises of YOUR people." (Psalm 22:3).
Praise HIM BECAUSE HE is HOLY!!! HE sent HIS ONLY SON to die on the cross to save us from our sins!!!
Praise HIM BECAUSE HE "upholds, maintains, guides, and propels the UNIVERSE by HIS Mighty WORD of Power." (Hebrews 1:3).
BECAUSE HE wants us to live with HIM in Heaven forever...
BECAUSE "HE is the SAME yesterday, today, and Forever..."...Therefore HE loves us the SAME every day as HE did when JESUS was dying on the cross for us!!! (Hebrews 13:8/John 19:17-18).
Sometimes we might not "feel" like praising HIM---HOWEVER, HE declares in (Malachi 3:6) "I AM the LORD, I do not change."...So HE is ALWAYS WORTHY of our Praise!!!!!!!!!
"PRAISE SPOTLIGHTS GOD: Here is the most basic reason for our PRAISE unto GOD: HE IS WORTHY to be praised!!! [Hebrew halal "praise with a loud voice"]." The most primitive meaning of "halal" is "to cause to shine." Thus, with our praise, we are throwing the spotlight on our GOD WHO is Worthy and Deserves to be PRAISED and GLORIFIED!" The more we put the spotlight on HIM, the more HE causes us to shine. Modern medicine attests to the value of bringing a depressed person into a Brightly-lighted room, acknowledging that light greatly helps to heal their depression!!! How much MORE will Praise introduce the Light of GOD and bring us into the Joy of the LORD!!!" (Psalm 7:14-17/Psalm 22:3).
(The First word that GOD SPOKE was: "Let there be light; and there was light."(Genesis 1:3).
In (John 8:12) JESUS DECLARES "I AM THE LIGHT."
