*****THE WORDS WE SPEAK ****

"GOD spoke to Abraham, saying, 'As for ME, MY covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations.

"No longer shall your name be called Abram (Exalted father), but your name shall be Abraham (father of a Multitude); for I have made you a father of many nations." (Genesis 17:5).

"One of the explicit teachings (stated clearly, and leaving no room for doubt or confusion), of the Bible is the importance of the words that we speak.  In this text (above) GOD changes Abram's name to Abraham and promises Abraham that he will become the father of many nations.  "Abram" means "exalted father".  Abraham means "father of a multitude".  Thus GOD was arranging that EVERY TIME Abraham HEARD or SPOKE his OWN NAME, he would be reminded of GOD'S PROMISE.  Adam Clarke's Commentary states it well.  'GOD (associates) the patriarch (Abraham) more nearly to HIMSELF, by thus imparting to (Abraham) a portion of HIS NAME, noting GOD added this to Abraham for the sake of dignity.' The Principle: Let GOD'S WORDS, which designated HIS WILL and Promise for YOUR life, become as fixed in your mind and as Gov-erning of your speech as GOD'S changing Abraham's name was in shaping his concept of himself.  Do not "name" yourself (or anyone else) any thing less than GOD does!"  (NKJV Spirit-Filled Life Bible/Kingdom Dynamics).

SILENCING UNBELIEF: (The Israelites  in  obedience to GOD) prepare to Shout Down the wall around Jericho:  "Now Joshua had commanded the people, saying, ' You shall not shout nor make any noise with your voice, nor shall a word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I say to you, 'SHOUT!!!'  (Joshua 6:10/NKJV).

Many texts in GOD'S WORD instruct us to "wait on GOD", to stand still, to be silent before HIM (Moses, Ex. 14:13,(David- Psalm 37:7-8, Jehoshaphat- 2 Chron. 20:15).  In the (above) text Joshua commands the children of Israel to maintain TOTAL SILENCE as they walk around the wall of the city of Jericho. (NKJV Kingdom Dynamics).

"GOD'S unconventional strategy included waiting, walking, and No talking". (Footnote under Joshua 6:10).

We must be careful about what we see, and hear, AND "Bring our thoughts captive to the obedience of JESUS CHRIST..." (2 Cor. 10:5), AND our REFUSAL TO SPEAK doubt and fear will keep our heart more inclined to what GOD CAN do, rather than what WE CANNOT.   (NKJV Kingdom Dynamic plus (+) Proverbs 30:32).

"...on the seventh (7th) day they rose early, about the dawning of the day, and marched around the city seven (7) times.  On he 7th time it happened.....when the priests blew the trumpets...that Joshua said to the people:  SHOUT!!! for the LORD has given to you the city!

"...so the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat!  Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him and they took the city! (Joshua 6:10-20).

"ACCEPTABLE" SPEECH BEFORE GOD:                                          "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my Strength and my Redeemer.       (Psalm 19:14).  This often-quoted verse attests to the IMPORTANCE and DESIRABILITY of our words and thoughts being consistent with GOD'S WORD and WILL.  The text literally says, 'Let what I speak and what my heart murmurs to itself be a delight to YOU, LORD."    Clearly, the acceptability of our words in GOD'S sight is dependent upon their being consistent with what our hearts feel or think.  The truth of this text urges us to ALWAYS speak the kind of words that confirm what we believe or think in our hearts about GOD, HIS love, and HIS power.  If we BELIEVE, yet CONTRADICT that belief with Careless words from our mouth, it is NOT acceptable in GOD'S sight.  Remember the lesson of Cain's sacrifice (Genesis 4:1-7); what is unacceptable is not only faithless and fruitless; it may also become deadly.  (NKJV Kingdom dynamic/Psalm 19:14.

WISE WORDS BRING HEALTH:                                                          "The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, and adds learning to his lips."                                                                                                        "Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones." (Proverbs 16: 23-24).                                            This text reveals what GOD'S wisdom (HIS WORD) has taught our hearts: Those truths and promises are to influence our speech---to transmit that learning to our lips.  The WORD in our hearts is to teach or control our speech and conduct;  the "sweetness' and "health" such speech promotes are desirable, whether in our human relationships or in the release of divine grace in our daily living.  It leads the believer to an overcoming, victorious life, through a consistent acknowledgement of the power and might of GOD with both mouth and manner."  (NKJV Kingdom Dynamic/Proverbs 16:23-24/Psalms 19:14/Matthew 15:7-9).

"Let GOD'S Words, which designated HIS WILL and PROMISE for YOUR life, become as FIXED in YOUR mind and as GOVERNING of YOUR SPEECH as GOD'S changing Abraham's name was in shaping his concept of himself.  DO NOT "name" yourself (Nor Anyone) anything less than GOD does.

JESUS says it is the SPIRIT WHO gives life...The words that I speak to you are Spirit, and they are life."  (John 6:63).

AMEN. By YOUR mercy and grace may it be so in my life.
