WHAT, OR WHOM, ARE YOU BECOMING MORE LIKE?

Early in the morning.....while still in bed.....
Meditating on the Names/character virtues, and promises of Holy God our Father, Jesus Christ,
and You, oh Holy Spirit!!! ---
This strengthens my faith, calms my heart, .....and actually changes me (us!) more and more into
the image of Jesus Christ!!!
*** Before I go any further with this, let me confess that I genuinely struggle with "walking out"
the truths that I am sharing in this post.**
(II Corinthians 3:18) :
"But we all, beholding in (God's Word), as in a mirror, the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image (of Jesus Christ), from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord."
Whatever we focus on in our thoughts, wishes/hopes/daydreams - - - we become more like!
Psalm 115: 4-8 speaks of man and his idols, concluding in verse 8: "Those who make (idols) are like them; so is everyone who trusts in them."
Even when we focus on something in dislike, or even hate, we tend to become more like that.
Psychology studies have verified that adults who were abused as children - - - very often end up abusing their own children, or children of other parents - - - thus becoming more like what they focused on in hate.
BUT. We have the MARVELOUS, WONDERFUL, even HOLY privilege of focusing on, meditating on JESUS CHRIST THE HOLY SON OF GOD!!!!!!!
HE IS:"THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE GLORY OF GOD"!!!(Hebrews 1:3)
"JESUS CHRIST-THE POWER OF GOD!" (I Cor. 1:24)
"A CROWN OF GLORY AND A DIADEM (crown) OF BEAUTY"!!!(Isaiah 28:5)
"THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE"> (John 11:25)
"OUR PORTION" (PSALM 16:5)
"OUR SHEPHERD"(Psalm 23)
"OUR RESTING PLACE" (Jeremiah 50:6)
Psalm 1:1-2 - "Blessed is the man (person) who meditates on God's law (God's Word)".

NOT a mental exercise only.
In Hebrew thought, to MEDITATE on the Word of God is to quietly repeat the verses in a soft voice, while utterly ABANDONING outside distractions.
Some Names/Virtues/truths to begin with:
"I will fear no evil, for HE, is WITH ME." (Psalm 23:4)
JESUS CHRIST is "HIMSELF my peace". (Ephesians 2:14)
JESUS is "...always with you". (Matthew 28:20)
JESUS is "The way, the truth, and the life." (John 14:6)
THE HOLY SPIRIT will "...guide us into all truth." (John 16:13)
